Kevin Keegan Pirelli Slippers

You know that Savile Rogue slipper socks are the ultimate when it comes to slouching footwear. But running us a very close second are the Kevin Keegan Pirelli Slippers. Oh yes! “Yout favourite slippers – now with your favourite footballer,” as the advert boasts. The slippers feature a likeness of Keegan in his England kit stuck to the upper. Going To The Match: A season-long collection of Sheffield United photos

This is one of those projects that it doesn’t really matter whether it’s about your club or not. The images are such that they will be recognisable to fans of most clubs (or at least fans of clubs who haven’t moved/improved to a shiny new stadium in recent years). Going To The Match is the work of Sheffield United fan … Continue reading

Lionel Messi poses in his pants for Dolce and Gabbana

Lionel Messi is probably the finest player of the past 20 years. He can turn matches like nobody else and do things with a football that other players could only dream of. And yet it’s safe to say that he doesn’t wear the ‘I’m an incredible footballer’ look quite as well as some of his contemporaries. That down-to-earth persona is … Continue reading

Caught up in the modern football hype? Read Richer Than God by David Conn

You probably already know David Conn. He writes for the Guardian, often overlooking the usual fare of football journalism in favour of serious interrogation of the facts and finances behind our clubs. Except, as Conn explains in his book Richer Than God, they’re not really clubs – they’re companies. The book focuses mainly on the Manchester City takeover as Conn … Continue reading

A Sunderland fan who converted his garage into a merchandise-decked bar more than 20 years ago has been letting a camera crew explore his memorabilia collection. But he revealed he is a bit more picky about who can come in when it comes to Newcastle fans. Les Cooper, aged 53, has decorated his home bar with framed Sunderland photos, scarves, … Continue reading

Great football matchday artwork from artist Paine Proffitt

When we brought you the Football: The Modern Day Religion documentary recently, you might have noticed that it contained some rather nice art. A Savile Rogue scarf: it’s a better Father’s Day present than a wig

It’s safe to say you owe a lot to your dad. Your hairline, your waistline and your team, to name just three things. Since a wig or a gym membership is likely to go down like a lead balloon as a Father’s Day present, we’d suggest you say ‘thanks’ to your dad for instilling your impeccable taste in football clubs … Continue reading
