Great football matchday artwork from artist Paine Proffitt

When we brought you the Football: The Modern Day Religion documentary recently, you might have noticed that it contained some rather nice art.

That was the work of artist Paine Proffitt, who has a considerable amount of football-related work in his portfolio. Since we love football and Paine’s work we thought you might too, so we’re sharing them here.

Paine produces some great matchday imagery. As well as selling prints and originals, he has also had his work used in programmes and fanzines for teams including West Brom, Arsenal, Aberdeen and Port Vale.

Inevitably, we particular like the artwork that incorporates some excellent scenes of fans decked out in scarves.

Here are a selection of those…

  1. Paine is a great artist, and a great fan of Port Vale, where he is a season ticket holder. All last season’s programme covers were Paine Proffitt originals. His work is available at the equally brilliant Barewall gallery in the centre of Burslem.

  2. Has he done any Hibernian related work? Really like the look of this.
