Brazil nut carvings of England greats by Quentin Devine

Micro-artist Quentin Devine has carved some of England’s greatest footballing talents into Brazil nuts ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

A Brazil nut is around 2cm long by 1.5cm high, but Quentin has managed to chisel out likenesses of players such as Paul Gascoigne, David Beckham and Gary Lineker.

Each player took around 96 hours to complete, with Quentin getting though 53 nuts before completing five portraits that he was happy with.

He said: “My final piece, Gary Lineker, proved to be a tough nut to crack with his large ear span reducing the already tiny surface area I had to work with.

“After over 20 attempts, many broken ears and all hope lost, I finally perfected it.”
