Levante merchandise by Lawerta

Spanish illustrator Jorge Lawerta has produced some work for La Liga side Levante, which has now been put to use on some official merchandise, including t-shirts.

The rather fetching typography features the club’s name and the word Granota.

Approximate potted history: during the Spanish Civil War, Valencia-based Levante had to move grounds and the new pitch had a lot of frogs on it. Granota is local dialect for a frog and became the club’s nickname.

Nice to see a club getting a bit creative and commissioning this kind of work rather than doing merchandise by numbers. Well played, Levante.

See the finished t-shirts for sale on Levante’s website for €24.90.
