Nurturing Football’s Homegrown Talent by Lo Cole

Sean Ingle’s column in today’s Guardian tackles the issue of nurturing homegrown footballing talent. In particular, it looks at the talent identification methods employed by clubs and explores how bigger, faster and even older players still end up being favoured.

The piece is accompanied by an excellent illustration from Lo Cole. The nurturing of homegrown talent is symbolised by these tulips-come-Subbuteo figures growing out of plant pots of stats.

Simple but effective and very well executed.
