Football as religion

With football match crowds easily outnumbering church-goers, the beautiful game has become as close to a religion as many ever experience. With this in mind, designers Miguel Sousa and Francisco Pancho Cassis have flipped the idea, and have developed some football kits for a fictitious World Cup of Religions. BBC “Villa scarf” sub-title gaffe

The BBC has apologised to the former Aston Villa chairman Sir Doug Ellis after a subtitler mistakenly linked him with Hezbollah. “Great to see Doug Ellis here in his Villa scarf,” said the Match of the Day commentator Steve Wilson.
